8th grader Chase Sasse and freshman Carter Manzer traveled to Washington D.C., April 25 - 29 to compete in the National Tournament for the Academic Games League of America with their coaches Amy Bocci and Casey Sandorf. Chase competed in the Middle Division (grades 7-8) in Linguishtiks, Presidents, Propaganda, Equations, and Current Events for a total competition time of 18 hours! Carter competed in the Junior Division (grades 9-10) in Linguishtiks, Presidents, Propaganda, Equations, Current Events, and Theme for a total competition time of 20 hours! Each game has multiple rounds and was played over 2 different days.
Both students represented the Knoch School District spectacularly. Carter earned a 1st Place Golden Thinker Trophy for his team contribution to the Theme Competition: Our Nation’s Capital: Washington D.C.
This win also gives Carter the title of National Champion!
