Knoch Academic Trivia Teams Excel at Northeast Championship

Two Knoch High School Academic Trivia teams traveled to Saint Elizabeth University in Florham Park, New Jersey, from May 29–31 to compete in the Long Island Quiz Bowl Northeast Championship.

Both teams competed in nine rounds of competition on Saturday against some of the top academic teams in the region. Following strong performances, the team of seniors Josie Graper, Aaron Voltz, and Carter Worsley, along with sophomore Geoffrey Fair, advanced to the championship playoffs on Sunday.

The quartet competed in four playoff rounds and finished as the 4th-place team in the Northeast, an impressive accomplishment at one of the region’s premier quiz bowl events.

In addition to the team’s success, Geoffrey Fair earned individual recognition for his outstanding performance. Fair scored 960 points during Saturday’s competition, the fifth-highest total in his competition division, earning an individual award.

Knoch’s student competitors included:

  • Sophomore: Geoffrey Fair
  • Junior: Maggie Powell
  • Seniors: David Breese, Hannah Butler, Sarah Edder, Josie Graper, Remmy Kovac, Aaron Voltz, and Carter Worsley

Congratulations to all of the students for representing Knoch with excellence and demonstrating their academic knowledge and competitive spirit on a regional stage.
