KHS Thankful Responses

Thank you to the many Knoch High School students who participated in our “Thankful” survey!  While we were only able to award and submit four responses to the Butler Eagle, we had a hard time selecting them because all are great and heartfelt.  For that reason, we wanted to share them with the Knoch community as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.

I am thankful for…

Friends and family

I am thankful for family and football every Sunday.

my animals and my boyfriend.

My incredible dogs.

I'm thankful for a loving family.

my amazing life, all the places I go and things I see, with friends and family.  I am most thankful for my mom and friends.

my donkey. He was my first ever pet and I love him to death.

Mr. Andreassi letting me use his microwave.

I am thankful for a lot of things but especially my friends and family because of everything they do for me.

I am thankful for food.

I am thankful for my outstanding morals. I despise vaping and smoking, and have never drunk or done any drugs! I think it’s disgusting how normalized these activities are, and I think it’s good that there are kids like myself that still keep their bodies clean.

My family.

My family.

I’m thankful for my mom, who’s always been there to help me through life’s ups and downs, and who never fails to keep a smile on my face.

I'm thankful for a loving girlfriend and friends who helped me through a tough time.  Even though I've lost some friends along the way I know that everyone will be alright because we are all strong and funny when we're with each other.

My friends.

I am thankful for surviving all of the hardships that life has thrown at me, my family, and my friends.

I am thankful for all my theater friends and my job.

I am thankful for my family. Family is very important because they are the people that get you through thick and thin. It’s very important to have a good support around you and I know without my family I would not be as far with my education. That’s why I am most grateful for my family.

My cat. The only thing I know that will always be there for me after a long day and of course my family and friends because I wouldn't be me without them.

My friends and family.

I'm thankful for the opportunities that have been given to me, and the people who have gotten me to the spot I am in now. I never would've imagined I'd be the class president, or even that I would've given a speech at middle school graduation. I thought taking as many classes as I am would be too much with a sport, but my family and friends and even teachers are an amazing support system and I'm happy they still make time for me. My wish is that my gratitude and thanks to them is enough to repay even half as much as they've done for me. To my peers, family, and teachers, I'm thankful for you.

I am thankful for family, friends, electricity, water, and a place to live.

My Family.

my teachers !

I am thankful that I have an education.

If you ask what am I thankful for? Thanks for asking that question because I'm thankful for everything.  Like I am thankful for being alive, having family and friends who care a lot about me, having a great school district that has a good variety of sports and after-school programs. But I am also thankful for everything that happened in the past until now so pretty much that's what I'm thankful for. Thank You for your time.

A loving family.

I am thankful for the fact that my best friend is still here.

Having food on the table and clothes on my back.

I am thankful for a wonderful, caring community to live in.

My dog bc she’s so cute and cuddly 🥰

I am thankful for the world and all that is given in the world.

I'm thankful for Knoch School District because they give me every supply and help that I need.

They also give me the education to graduate high school, and help all of the students with their problems through counseling.

my friends and lucy.

I am thankful for my mom; she took me in and took care of me when no one else would.

I am thankful for my life and all of my family and friends.

I'm thankful for God and all his help with my dad and God being able to help my dad through everything, and for my family being able to stick together through our struggles

my family and friends.

I am thankful for getting to enjoy the happy moments I make with my family and friends. Even all of the little things that happen throughout it.

I’m thankful for my friends. My friends are people that will always be there for me if I need them.

my family and friends for always being there when I need them.

The time that you get to spend with family and friends.

I am thankful for my friends and family, food on the table, the life god gave me, and a roof over my head.

I am thankful for all of my friends and the great people I have around me. I am most thankful for my family though because they take care of me and they are there for me. Especially my brother. He is my best friend.

Doctors.

My Two Best Friends.

My friends, family, and everyone who cares for me.

Mr. Springer

I am thankful for my family and faith. My faith in God and my supportive parents have gotten me through my rough patches in life. I don’t know what I would do without them. I would never take them for granted! Not a day goes by without realizing how blessed I am.

For my family being safe.

Sleep

I am thankful for amazing faculty members here at Knoch High School. There have been so many people from teachers, to guidance counselors, to secretaries to have on positive influence on me. Your teenage years are challenging times, but having positive people to help you each and every day makes it all a little bit more doable. I truly believe that everybody employed in a school, especially teachers have the ability to change your whole life. One really bad teacher could make you hate that subject leaving a detrimental mark forever. On the other hand, really good teachers have the potential to be a role model, not just today, but your whole life. As an individual who struggles with anxiety and OCD, going to school can be challenging, however there so many adults who make me feel excited and comfortable to come back another day. The fantastic teachers I have had inspired me to really consider pursuing a career in the education field. By personally seeing how many teachers have changed my life, both in good in bad ways, I am encouraged to be able to do the same. I am thankful for each one of my teachers who can put aside their own personal obstacles to educate and inspire all of us each and every day.

I am thankful for my family, my dogs, and my best friend.

I am thankful for my stepfather. He is an amazing man and I'm so grateful to have someone like him in my life. After having to fight in court to get away from my biological father, I am extremely lucky to still have arms to run to and a person to call dad. He puts up with a lot from me and my family, but he continues to love us, and thanks to him I am learning what life is like in a normal family. He shows my mom the love and affection she deserves, he has shown my sister what a marriage is supposed to look like, and he has shown me that getting in trouble doesn't mean getting hurt. There will never be enough words to say how appreciative I am for the lessons he has already taught me and the ones he hasn't yet. I love him and can't wait to spend our second Thanksgiving together as a family.

thankful that I am healthy and my family is healthy.

I am thankful for my Teachers and my friends.

I am thankful for my friends and family. I am also thankful that they are always there for me when  I need them the most and support me through everything.

I am thankful for being healthy.

I am thankful for my horses because they bring so much joy and light into my life.

Family

I’m thankful for having good grades good teachers and good friends I’m also thankful for my mom for supporting me through the year.

I'm thankful for the loving and supportive family I have and to have such a supportive and loving boyfriend, and I'm so thankful for having the opportunities that I have been presented with in my life so far and I'm thankful to have the people I'm going to spend my rest of my life with.

My whole family and electricity

I am thankful for everyone who has stuck by my side.  I have had a tough year with my mom passing away.  That every one that has been there for me has always made me feel wanted and respected and has kept my mind off of it.  I appreciate every one of them; they will always have a special place in my heart.

I am thankful for a school that is safe, and all of the people in the school that stand up for their students' safety.

I am thankful for my family, friends, teachers, youth group leaders, my home, and the ability to receive an education by being able to go to school. I am also thankful for the healthcare providers and first responders that have worked incredibly hard through the years and especially with the recent pandemic that occurred. I believe that we should always be thankful for the things that we have and should keep in mind that some people are not able to have the freedoms that we do today. Always make sure to be considerate of others and be thankful for the things that we are provided with every day through life.

I am thankful for my family, friends, teachers, and my school. I am also thankful for everything around me. I love fall, I am thankful for the small gestures and big ones too. I love the leaves in the fall and how it's warmer than in the winter. I love having Thanksgiving with my friends and family and all the days I can enjoy myself and the things around me. I am thankful for it all and everything everyone does for me and shows me.

My family, friends, and stuff that I have.

My friends, family, everything that has been given to me, and everyone that I've met.

I am thankful for all of my friends, family, and teachers for being amazing and supportive through all of my school years and now going into college.

I am thankful for good health. Recently, with COVID-19 and many other sicknesses, loved ones have been affected greatly. Sometimes this has lead to death and lots of heartbreak. I am grateful for not only my own health, but also for all of my friends and family. Spending time with friends and family is very important to me, and I enjoy it. It’s easy to overlook how much you have to be thankful for until it’s gone.

I'm thankful for my family, as we lost a member of our family who had lost his battle to PTSD in 2019. My dad had served in the Army and was a Husband to my mom, a Brother to my uncle, and a Father to his 5 kids or my 4 siblings. After me and my family going throuh this, we learned a lot along our journey to somewhat recovering. Through this, we learned that life is fragile as it could be going all good and take a sudden turn for the worse. And one thing I can’t personally stress enough is that you should enjoy the company and people around you while you have them because it only takes a second for things to change for the worse.Throughout this entire journey, I am thankful that family has been able to pull together and pull through stronger than ever before.

I am thankful for my talented sister, Sarah, who inspires me to strive for success and my amazing brother, Alex, who shows me that it's okay to be myself.

I am thankful for all of my friends and my whole family.  I am thankful that I have the privilege to attend such a wonderful school.

I am beyond thankful for the care and support of people around me. It’s so great to know that I’ve finally found MY group of people and that they love me through whatever I may do.

I am thankful for all the people around me who help me. My mom for giving me the things I need. Other adults around me that I feel comfortable to reach to for advice. I'm thankful for my

friends that help me cheer up when I'm sad. I'm thankful for my cat because I love her so much, and she makes me so happy.

I'm thankful for my family and everything they do for me, whenever I need someone to talk to I know that I can rely on them. No matter if it's big or small I know that they will be there for me and help me conquer anything and everything.

Throughout the course of my life, I've learned that I'm most thankful for relationships. Most may limit the term "relationship" to that of a significant other, family member, or friend. However, from my experience, any person you grow to value or care for exemplifies what I believe a relationship means. Relationships bring out the best in me because, from my understanding, I exert compassion, interest, and the best elements of my personality when I'm conversing with someone that I do care about. I'm not only thankful for the positive attributes that exert from me within my relationships, but where they take me as well. I can recount on numerous occasions meeting people for the first time and reflecting on my relationship with them, and where It's taken me. There's no doubt in my mind that this is what I'm most thankful for, and my advice is to build and grow relationships because it will not only strengthen your character but also advance your role in society.

Everything I have, because not everyone can have the things I do.  For example, a family; not everyone has a family that cares for them. Another example is food and water. Some people starve and don't have any food or water, and other people are ungrateful for the food they are given. People have to use rags or sheets instead of clothes like mine.  Yeah, they might not be designer, but I could have dirty rags. Some people just do not get it. They could have nothing and they wonder why their parents are upset because they aren't grateful or do not appreciate the things they have.

I'm thankful for my family always being here for me and helping me when I always need it.

I am thankful for the people who are helping the world by picking up trash, cleaning up the ocean, and helping others.

Within my lifetime there have been many encounters that I will cherish and remember forever. Those moments have shaped who I am as a person. I am thankful for my environment, the people I have met, and the chance I have to be myself. I'm extremely thankful that I have a family that supports me, and a community that I feel safe in.

I am thankful for my friends and my family who are with me for whatever I do.

I am thankful for my family and friends. I have been in very dark places at times and without their support, I don't know where I would be right now. My family holds me up high and never lets me fall. My friends are there to make me laugh when my day is terrible. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really am thankful for them, and I don't know where I would be without them.

My family and friends

I am thankful for my family. They support and taught me so many things in life that no one else could have. My family participates in my events and sports, always cheering me on from the sidelines. They constantly are showing me new ways to have fun and look at things from a new point of view. They are who I can look up to and ask for help. My family is my role model because I respect them, and I am thankful for my family.

I am beyond thankful for all of the opportunities that I have in my life that can set me up for success in the future. There are so many different activities and experiences that are open to me and 93 I think it's something that is sometimes overlooked.

I’m thankful for being healthy and able to play the sport I love all year round.
