FAFSA Workshop - December 7

Attention Seniors: There will be a FAFSA Completion Workshop on Saturday, December 7 from 12-2 p.m. in the LLC. There is no need to RSVP to this event. It is optional for families who would like assistance in filling out the FAFSA. Please reach out to one of the counselors if you have any questions. Here are some important things to know and bring:

 

-Students will need to apply 4 days in advance of the workshop for their StudentAid.gov Account. Any contributor of information to the FAFSA such as a parent(s) will also need to apply for a StudentAid.gov Account 4 days in advance of the workshop.  

-Students should determine who will need to contribute information to the application. A contributor is usually a parent who provides financial information on the form for a dependent student. If you aren’t sure if you are a dependent or an independent student, go here: https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out/dependency#dependent-or-independent. To learn which parent(s) needs to contribute information to the FAFSA go here: https://studentaid.gov/fafsa-apply/parents. (If a dependent student’s parents are married and filed a joint tax return in 2023, then only one of the parents needs to get a StudentAid.gov account.)

-Go to StudentAid.gov to create an account and visit https://studentaid.gov/resources/prepare-for-college/creating-your-account for further information.
